Happy Fourth of July + A Photostory!

Happy Fourth of July!

Today, I put together an Independence Day themed photostory.

Starring:

Maryellen
Emily
Grace
Sophie
Jack

I hope you enjoy reading the story!

"Emily, would you please come over here and help set up the table!" Maryellen shouts at Emily, her younger sister. Maryellen waits for a reply while she carefully fills each cup with ice-cold lemonade.

"Ugh" Emily groans. She turns her head toward the table. "Looks like it is already done!" "Come anyway and see how it looks then" Maryellen responded.

"Okay, I'm coming" Emily started walking toward the table of goodies.

"Wow Maryellen! This looks wonderful!" Emily complimented. "Thanks Emily! Now, I wonder who will be arriving first?" Maryellen pondered.

"Well, it looks like...Cecile!" Emily exclaimed. "Yay, someone has arrived!" Maryellen quickly announced.

"Hey guys! What's up?" Cecile greeted.

"How have you been?" Emily asked Cecile. "Good! I can't believe we haven't seen each other since the end of school!" Cecile replied. "Same! I know right! It's been awhile." Emily led Cecile over to the table.

As soon as Cecile got situated, the three girls looked over to see another guest was heading over. "Grace is here guys" Cecile exclaimed.

Maryellen rushed over to Grace. "Grace!" Maryellen squealed. "Hey Maryellen" Grace replied. The two girls hugged each other.

Not long after Grace arrived, Sophie and her little brother Jack came. "Hi everyone!" Jack giggled. "Awww!" Maryellen, Emily, Cecile, and Grace just adored Sophie's little brother. "Now that everyone is here, let's go eat." Emily suggested.

Everyone gathered around the table. "Mmmm! I can tell this pizza is from Dolly Diner." Sophie said as she licked her lips. "Can we make s'mores now?" Jack nagged. "Yep! The supplies are over here." Emily replied.

As Sophie helped Jack with roasting his marshmallows, the other girls gathered around to watch him. "He's adorable!" Grace giggled.

"Sophie, are my marshmallows done?" Jack asked while examining his stick. "Yes dear. Let's go ahead and make your s'more and let others roast some mallows." Sophie replied sweetly. She led Jack to the table and helped him put his s'more together.

"Guys, I need a group photo before anyone leaves!" Maryellen commanded. Maryellen set up her camera on timer and quickly jumped into the photo.

The end!

I hope you all enjoyed reading my photostory!

Now, I have a few bonus photos to share with you all!

Doll Sewing Patterns at Jo-Ann Fabrics!

Hi!

I am so sorry for not posting very much! I have been bogged down with school and my schedule has been busy.

I was thinking of making a posting schedule so I post regularly. What do you guys think of that? Let me know in the comments!

Well, the other week when we were at Jo-Ann Fabrics, I found sewing patterns for 18" dolls! I was very excited to find these and knew it was the perfect thing to blog about. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera so I had to take the photos on my phone.
(Sorry for some of the bad quality photos!)

I found American Girl brand patterns!

Here they are a bit closer.

This one is to sew the style of dress pictured. It says you can sew 4 outfits!

This one you can also sew 4 outfits. This is a pattern for a shirt and skirt.

This is a sewing pattern to sew the new Cinderella dress for you and your doll! This is so adorable! You and your doll could be wearing the same outfit sewed by you! Cool, right?

Of course, they had patterns for Anna and Elsa from Frozen! The pattern even includes Anna and Elsa's Coronation Day dresses!

There were also patterns for Anna and Elsa from Frozen Fever!

I know these are not 18" dolls, but I wanted to share anyway. They had sewing patterns for Anna and Elsa from Frozen for Barbie-size dolls too!

You can also sew a mermaid outfit for both you and your doll! This one would have been perfect for Halloween, especially if you wanted your doll to dress the same way as you!

There was also a dress pattern for your, an adult, and a doll! Your family could all match, including your doll! I think that would be super cute.

Here is a pattern for a dress and a robe. I love the robe!

This pattern is for a dress and skirt.

This is a pattern for the style of dress in the photo. These dresses are so cute!

This pattern is for the shirt and dress. I think these are perfect for fall!

Here is a pj-looking outfit and a jacket pattern.

Lastly, pretty winter dresses and winter coat pattern.

Well, that is all of the doll patterns I saw at Jo-Ann Fabrics. I hope you enjoyed this post!

Which pattern is your favorite?

Hello friends on the web! I have exciting news. Well, first I need to tell you about some stuff. Have any of you heard or been in the American Girl Fashion show? We have known about it for a few years but never had gone. This year, we applied for the one here in Florida and guess what?! Delanie and I are in it modeling! The fittings will be this next week. I can't wait to tell you how that goes. Also, my mom ordered each of us an outfit. We both got the shirt for dolls, the jeggings for dolls, and the boots.

First Doll Craft~ Make Your Dolls Colored Pencils!

Hey guys! I am posting my first doll craft! I will be showing you how to make dolly colored pencils! This craft is inspired by American Girl Fans post on how to make a #2 post. You can see that post here.
Here is Emily using her red colored pencil!

You will need:
  • Toothpicks(as many as you want. 1 toothpick makes 2 pencils)
  • Scissors
  •  Sharpies(any colors you want!)
First, you will need to use your pair of scissors and cut the toothpick(s) in half. Try to cut them as close to half as you can!

They should look similar to this.

Take your colored Sharpie and color your toothpick handle.

Color the tip of the "pencil". Let a space in between the handle and the tip to make it look like a real colored pencil. LET THE PENCIL(S) DRY BEFORE YOUR DOLLS HOLD IT! IF THEY HOLD IT WHEN IT IS WET, IT WILL LEAVE A MARK!!!

There you go! You just made colored pencils for your dolls! How did you like this? Please let me know in the comments because if you liked it then I will do more crafts. If you make some for your dolls, send me the photos at hopie.harman@gmail.com and I will post a post with everyone's photo! Please say a description and your name(it will be on the post). Thanks and happy crafting!
